Mercedes Actros 5 2018 Onwards and Arocs 2020 Onwards Camera Interface

This vehicle-specific video interface is suitable for selected Mercedes-Benz Actros 5 models from 2018 onwards and Mercedes-Benz Arocs models from 2020 onwards.

It allows compatible aftermarket cameras and video equipment to be displayed through the original Mercedes infotainment screen without replacing the factory monitor.

The vehicle must be equipped with a Classic Cockpit featuring the 7-inch Multimedia Radio Touch display, or a 10.25-inch Multimedia Cockpit display without factory navigation and with a 26-pin radio connector.

Add Front and Rear Cameras to the Factory Display

The interface provides dedicated connections for an aftermarket reverse camera and front camera, together with two additional CVBS video inputs for compatible aftermarket video sources.

This makes it possible to add improved front and rear visibility to compatible Mercedes commercial vehicles while retaining the original dashboard display.

Automatic Reverse Camera Switching

When a compatible aftermarket reverse camera is installed, the interface can automatically switch the factory display to the rear camera image when reverse gear is engaged.

Once reverse gear is disengaged, the interface can automatically display the aftermarket front camera for approximately 10 seconds. This can provide additional visibility when manoeuvring a large commercial vehicle in confined spaces.

Four Video Inputs

The interface provides four NTSC-compatible CVBS video inputs:

• One dedicated aftermarket reverse camera input
• One dedicated aftermarket front camera input
• Two additional aftermarket video inputs

The two additional inputs can be used with compatible video sources such as media players, digital television tuners or other CVBS video equipment.

External Input Control

An external keypad is included for switching between enabled video inputs.

A long press cycles through the activated additional video sources, while a short press can be used to display the front camera when the interface is configured accordingly.

Only the video inputs required for the installation need to be enabled, allowing unused inputs to be skipped when switching between sources.

The interface includes an on-screen settings menu for adjusting the image from each connected video source.

The vehicle must be equipped with one of the following factory infotainment systems:

• Classic Cockpit with Multimedia Radio Touch and 7-inch monitor
• Multimedia Cockpit with 10.25-inch monitor without factory navigation

The factory radio must use a 26-pin radio connector.

Please Note

This interface inserts video only. Audio from an additional AV source must be connected separately through a suitable factory AUX input, FM modulator or additional audio interface.

Only NTSC-compatible cameras and video sources are supported.

Some vehicles with the 10.25-inch Multimedia Cockpit use a 31-pin radio connector. A different interface may be required for these vehicles. Check the connector fitted to the vehicle before ordering.

Cameras and additional video sources are not included unless stated otherwise.

Professional installation by a suitably qualified vehicle electronics technician is strongly recommended.

Important Safety Information

Video content must not distract the driver. Moving video should only be viewed while the vehicle is stationary. When driving, the system should only be used for permitted information displays and camera images required for safe vehicle operation.
